Vacation is over
Far from the Pepsi commercial, “been there done that”, cliché I feel somewhat tricked. The vacation has been nice but I haven’t really done anything at all. Four weeks of vacation is over and I definitely don’t feel ready for work yet. It can be so boring sometimes.
I’m working on a project where we are going to upgrade a mission critical production server running Tru64 version 4.0 to version 5.1. This server runs many small systems solving various specific integration problems as well as several large CORBA based systems. Unfortunately it’s my responsibility to make sure all these systems compile, behave as normal and talks to the surrounding systems.
With a clear blue sky the sun is bright and hot outside. I’d rather be on the beach right now. If not that, at least I’d like to be left alone at my desk, with my headphones on, to tinker with small javascript or PHP5 projects. But that’s not in my job description right now. Oh well, only six hours left until I can head home from work later today.
